A copper- and biocide-based high performance antifouling using the latest copper release technology for optimal copper release. Slow polishing and with a hard scrubable surface. Read more.
Epifanes Copper-Cruise is a high-performance antifouling paint suitable for all types of wooden, steel and polyester yachts. It is a physically drying paint that contains copper(I) oxide and ensures optimal copper release through the latest copper release technology. This gives the paint a slow-grinding effect and creates a hard scrubbable surface. Epifanes Copper-Cruise is suitable for use in fresh, brackish and salt water areas and has a minimum cruising speed of 5 knots and a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots.
The paint layer of Epifanes Copper-Cruise wears off due to resistance during sailing, maintaining a smooth underwater hull. The antifouling paint has a semi-gloss finish and a density at 20°C between 1.35 - 1.78 kg./dm³, depending on the colour. The viscosity at 20°C is between 120 - 140 seconds DIN - cup 4 mm and the solids content is between 50 - 58 ± 2 vol. %, depending on the colour. The VOC content of Epifanes Copper-Cruise is on average 432 g/litre.
The paint is available in various colours, including red-brown, red, light blue, dark blue, black and off-white. It comes in 750ml and 2500ml containers and has a shelf life of at least 2 years from the production date, if stored at a temperature between 5° and 30° in its original unopened packaging.
Epifanes Copper-Cruise should preferably be applied undiluted. If necessary, it can be thinned with Epifanes Thinner D-100, but maximum 5%. For best results, the paint should be applied in layers of equal thickness parallel to the waterline. Coats should not overlap more than three times on the same piece and it is recommended to work with a short-haired coat roller or long-haired slack brush.
The recommended film thickness per coat is 80-100 μm wet = 40-50 μm dry. The theoretical yield of the paint is 10-12 m² per ltr. @ 50 μm dry film thickness, but practical yield depends on application method, conditions during application, quality of substrate and shape of object.
Epifanes Copper-Cruise is safe to use, but the user must comply with national health, safety and environmental laws. It is important to consult the safety data sheet for more information and the most up-to-date safety data.
