Marina De Oude Horn

Welcome to Jachthaven De Oude Horn, the home port of Watersports Association "De Oude Horn." This association, founded in 1965, has the noble goal of promoting water sports in Leerdam and its surroundings. The association has around 300 members and donors and accommodates more than 100 berths for its members.

The beautifully located Jachthaven De Oude Horn consists of three parts: a bowl, an old harbour and outside jetties on the river Linge. This marina is a stone's throw from the centre of Leerdam, where shops and supermarkets are within easy reach.

Below you can view an aerial view of our marina, as seen in a short film by RTV Utrecht, illustrating the passers-by marina and its proximity to the drawbridge and the Glasblazerij. Passers-by and camper guests are very welcome at the marina, where they have access to numerous facilities. The harbour masters are on hand to provide you with a safe berth, whether you wish to stay for just one day or longer.

On arrival, please report to the harbour office.

The harbour master will provide you with an access PIN. You can also contact the harbour master for information about the marina and Leerdam itself. You can contact us in advance by telephone or e-mail to enquire about the availability of berths in our marina.

The marina, Jachthaven De Oude Horn, has a range of facilities, including a canteen, bar and restaurant with a sunny terrace. There is much to experience in Leerdam and its surroundings for visitors who would like to spend a few days at the marina. In addition, they offer detailed information about Leerdam itself, such as supermarkets and catering establishments in the town and its surrounding area. Interesting cycling and walking routes can also be found on this webpage.

The atmospheric canteen is an excellent place to relax and enjoy a snack and a drink.

Besides the wonderful excursions in Leerdam and its surroundings, which can serve as a base from the marina, we recommend exploring the picturesque villages along the Linge. The Linge is the longest river in the Netherlands and offers plenty of opportunities for fun and relaxation.

Watersports club De Oude Horn has a range of facilities, including a club building with a cosy canteen and a sunny south-facing terrace. Opening hours of the canteen and kitchen vary according to the season.

In addition, the marina offers:

  • Spacious motorhome sites
  • Ladies' and men's bicycle rental
  • Fully enclosed grounds with access gates
  • Electricity, also for passers-by
  • Water supplies
  • Showers, toilets and washbasins, open throughout the boating season (near the canteen)
  • Laundrette with washing machine and dryer (behind the canteen)
  • Waste containers (at the car park)
  • Waste water station
  • A crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tonnes and a washing-up area
  • Space for winter storage
  • A dump for chemical toilets
  • Sale of gas bottles
  • Free wifi access

For motorhomes, the marina offers 6 motorhome sites of approximately 41 m² (9 x 4.5 metres), located behind the marina access gate for security and convenience. All camper pitches are equipped with a 6 amp electricity connection. The fee for this is €3 per day/night. Visitors can use the canteen with terrace, showers, toilets, laundry and other facilities. There is also a special facility for chemical toilets.

These camper pitches are available from 1 May to 27 October. Arrival is possible from 12:00 and departure should be no later than 11:00. If you wish to extend your stay, please inform the harbour master before 11:00 am, subject to availability.

Upon arrival, you can call the harbour master and he will open the entrance gate for you. The harbourmaster can be reached at 06-19063221. Booking in advance is possible but not compulsory, and can be done by phone at 06-19063221.

Leerdam, a city of more than 21,000 inhabitants, lies on the Linge, the longest river in the Netherlands. Leerdam obtained city rights in 1407 and was once surrounded by city walls, moats and gates. The castle on the Linge, just outside the city walls, was unfortunately lost to the ravages of time. In 2019, Leerdam became part of the new municipality of Vijfheerenlanden and moved from South Holland to the province of Utrecht.

The Linge, on which you can cruise leisurely, offers picturesque views of meadows, reed beds and orchards. In May, the orchards are shrouded in a pink blanket of apple blossom. The river hosts a rich variety of water birds, both common
