Mooring vessels in Nijmegen
When approaching Nijmegen with your vessel and planning to moor, there are some important things to consider. In most cases, you will need permission from the Port Authority and in some cases even a mooring permit. Here is what you need to know:

Application and Permission: Except for pleasure boats up to 15 metres, you should always register with the Port Authority and obtain permission to moor in the harbours and at the quays. For notifications, permission and mooring permits, please contact:

Berths in Nijmegen: There are several berths in Nijmegen, each with their own function and conditions. Some of the main ones are:
- Waalkade: for passenger ships and cargo ships in transit.
- Waalhaven: port for cargo ships, in transit. Also home port for 17 designated houseboats and the Skippers' Centre KSCC.
- Lindenberghaven: transient port for pleasure boats up to 15 metres in length, berth for historic ships, and designated places for houseboats and catering vessels. You may use the berth for a maximum of 2 x 24 hours.
- 't Meertje: harbour for 14 designated houseboats.
- Oostkanaalhavens: industrial harbour with 2 harbour arms for the transhipment of goods.
- Westkanaaldijk: unloading quay for transhipment of goods.

Use of Shore Power: At certain berths, you are required to use shore power. These places include Waalkade, Waalhaven (high-water jetty) and Lindenberghaven. The cost for drinking water is €2.20 per m3, and for shore power €0.22686 per kWh.

Organising a party: If you plan to organise a party on your boat or ship, you may need an event permit to do so. Please refer to the 'Notify Event or Request Permit' page for more information.

Port fees: The use of the harbours and quays is subject to port fees. The rates for port fees can be found in the Shipping Dues Regulation 2023. In Chapter II, Article 6, you can read under which circumstances you may be eligible for exemption from harbour fees.

Berth Lindenberghaven: The rate for pleasure boats is €17.15 per 24-hour period, and during the Four Days Week €25.70 per 24-hour period. All prices include VAT, and you can pay at the vending machine on the jetty.

Permit: If you need a mooring licence, the fee is a one-off €75.80 (including VAT). In addition, port fees apply; please refer to the Shipping Dues Regulation 2023.
