In the picturesque nature reserve of Nederhemert Zuid, also known as Het Eiland, located near the 17th-century fortified town of Heusden, there is a charming and peaceful marina. Here, space is still available for a few sailboats and motor yachts. Currently, only a few berths for vessels of 10 metres and longer with a width of up to 4.70 metres are still available.
The marina is located on a tributary of the Afgedamde Maas, in the municipality of Zaltbommel. Doerak boats used to be built and sold here, now they are happy to accommodate your own vessel. The sailing area includes the Bergsche Maas and, just a few kilometres to the north, the Waal and the Linge. This makes virtually all of the Netherlands accessible by water. Moreover, there is plenty to experience in the surrounding area. The cosy city of Den Bosch is only an hour away by boat, while you can reach the Biesbosch in about three hours.
On Het Eiland itself, you will find within walking distance a beautifully restored medieval castle, a small nature campsite and an atmospheric tea garden with a terrace and a small menu for lunch and dinner. Within ten minutes by boat is the beach pool of Well. Woudrichem, with its imposing Loevestein Castle, is also ideal for a nice day trip by boat.
The jetties are equipped with water, electricity and lighting. The harbour office offers sanitary facilities and you can of course use wifi free of charge. At the free car park you will also find the trailer slipway. At this marina, you don't have to worry about labour; berths are available all year round. Proceeds from the marina contribute to the preservation of the beautiful Nederhemert estate.
The price of the berth depends mainly on the dimensions of your boat. You are welcome to come and have a look or to contact Hans, the Harbour Master, without any obligation. You are welcome at:
