E-Harbour handles the entire transition to zero-emission boating. A future without polluting vessels, that is E-Harbour's mission. They are happy to play a pioneering role in this. By building and managing marinas for electric boats, E-Harbour helps make water traffic more sustainable. Green power in a sustainable marina
E-Harbour wants to make boating more sustainable. All their marinas are therefore equipped with a 'smart charging' electricity infrastructure, allowing passenger boats to be charged quickly and completely with 100% green electricity. This is what E-Harbour does
Advising municipalities in their transition to emission-free boating. Design and construction of electric marinas and mooring concepts. Managing emission-free marinas and the associated infrastructure for electric charging. Their mission A future in which there are no more boats cruising around emitting harmful substances. That is E-Harbour's mission. To fulfil this mission as soon as possible, they are happy to play a pioneering role. By building and managing marinas for electrically powered boats, E-Harbour is helping make water traffic sustainable in several municipalities.
Their view of sustainable water traffic is very simple: E-Harbour wants to meet today's needs while contributing to a healthy and clean future of our earth.
The transition to responsible boating has many more positive effects than just reducing particulate matter and CO2 emissions. It is at the same time a powerful engine for all kinds of desirable economic and social developments. A sustainable engine, that is.
By driving the transition to emission-free sailing, they therefore create benefits for society, economy, climate and environment. The company E-Harbour The idea for a sustainable harbour where only electric boats are allowed to moor dates back to 2011. At the time, Jaap Schippers (1982) won a tender to develop a marina in Amsterdam. Behind the De Omval business park, close to the Amstel river, the first sustainable marina for electric boats was inaugurated in 2017: E-Harbour Amstelkwartier. Already a year later, all 65 berths had been rented out, mostly to shipping companies that supply and recharge their tour boats with green electricity there, but also to private boat owners.
Meanwhile, E-Harbour has also settled in neighbouring municipality Uithoorn and in Zeeburg, where the marina is part of Nautix, Amsterdam's new nautical quarter. In the coming years, E-Harbour will realise even more marinas for electric boats. Because more and more municipalities are ready for a transition to emission-free water transport. With their broad experience and expertise in this field, Schippers is happy to play a pioneering role in this transition. Their service E-Harbour designs, supervises and takes care of the entire transition to emission-free shipping. Their service at is threefold:
- Advice to municipalities in their transition to emission-free sailing
E-Harbour is a pioneer in realising marinas for electrically powered boats. They therefore know better than anyone else what it takes to build such a marina. They are happy to share this knowledge and experience with municipalities that, like them, want to reduce emissions on the water.
- Design and construction of electric marinas and berth concepts
How do you realise a marina for electric vessels? E-Harbour did it, so they know. Moreover, they have a solid network of knowledge partners and suppliers, with which you can build even more new electric marinas efficiently, effectively.
- Managing emission-free marinas and associated electric charging infrastructure
Charging on the water requires a specific infrastructure of powerful charging facilities. E-Harbour not only manages marinas, but also the associated infrastructure for electric charging. Together with their harbour masters, they thus guarantee the best service for your boat, both in their marinas and on the water. E-Harbour Amstelkwartier E-Harbour Amstelkwartier is the first E-Harbour to be realised. This marina offers 65 berths that are ideally suited for shipping companies. Not surprisingly, the operation and ownership of this marina passed to Tourism Group Holding in 2021. E-Harbour Amstelkwartier offers 65 berths for electrically powered passenger vessels such as sloops, salon boats and tour boats up to a maximum length of 20 metres. For commercial boat charterers, E-Harbour Amstelkwartier is a safe haven with excellent facilities to support their business operations. The marina has a number of berths especially for floating storage and supply stations. The marina is located in the new city quarter Amstelkwartier, close to the
Amstel river. The marina is easily accessible by bicycle, public transport or car. Overamstel and Spaklerweg metro stations and Amsterdam-Amstel NS railway station are within walking distance. There are various (public) parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the marina. The location also offers the opportunity to park briefly, for example for provisioning purposes.
Simultaneously charging a large number of electrically powered vessels requires a very powerful electricity infrastructure. The marina has the best charging facilities to quickly and fully charge any type of vessel. The charging point can be easily operated with AanUit.net app. E-Harbour Amstelkwartier has a secure access gate. Thanks to the modern access system, only authorised people have access to the marina. In addition, the marina is secured with cameras. Harbour master Garrincha Hallie is present periodically. In his absence, you can always contact him (by phone) via e-mail: [email protected] or by phone on 06-39 05 30 74.
Fill your water tank at the marina using the drinking water system. The marina also has waste containers which are emptied periodically. E-Harbour Amstelkwartier has been owned by Tourism Group Holding since July 2021. For information on available berths and prices, please contact Mandy Bitter at [email protected].
