Water Sports Association Sloterplas

Welcome to the website of Watersports Association Sloterplas. This is an active association located on the water sports island on the southeast bank of the Sloterplas in Amsterdam. The establishment of this association dates back to 1969 and in 2019 they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Currently, there is very limited availability of berths. For specific information on availability, they recommend contacting the harbour master.

As a prospective member, it is important to recognise the volunteer efforts of Watersports Association Sloterplas. The association depends entirely on the efforts of volunteers and also appeals to members, including prospective members. Together, they work to keep the association in good shape. For more information on the association's vision of good membership, please click here.

The registration process for new members follows the association's by-laws:

Once you register with Watersports Association Sloterplas, your application will go on a waiting list with the board. The harbour commissioner (board member) will contact you or delegate this task to one of the harbour masters. You will be contacted when a berth is available (if applicable). Your registration details will be reviewed with you, and an appointment will be made for an inspection of your vessel. After your vessel is admitted to the marina, your details will be passed on to the membership administration. The member administration committee member will contact you to make an appointment to officially complete the registration. During this appointment, you must pay both the registration fee and the building fund, which can be done in cash or via pin. It is compulsory to insure your boat with the association, and a copy of your insurance papers should be provided at registration and annually thereafter. The association is not liable for any damage to your property in the marina.

In addition, we would like to stress that billing is on a seasonal basis. If you choose to terminate your membership early, no refund will be made.

Are you looking for a berth for your sloop, sailboat, fishing boat or motorboat less than 45 minutes by boat from the centre of Amsterdam? With direct connections to the Ringvaart canal, Nieuwe Meer, the ring of canals and eventually the IJsselmeer? It is possible with them.

Below are the dimensions of the berths (Width x Length, in metres):

Box of 2.30 x 5.00 Box of 2.30 x 6.00 Box of 2.90 x 7.00 Box of 3.40 x 8.00 Box of 3.80 x 9.00 Box of 3.80 x 10.00 For information about available berths and boxes, please contact the harbourmaster of Watersport Vereniging Sloterplas.

Unfortunately, they do not currently have space for trailers. But for trailer boats they have good news, their marina is equipped with a trailer ramp that is available all year round for both members and non-members.

However, an appointment with the harbour master is required, and keep in mind that the harbour master is not always available. You can make this appointment by filling in the accompanying form or by contacting the harbourmaster by phone, whose contact details can be found on their contact page.

Please note that there is a charge for using the slipway. These fees must be paid in cash or via pin to the harbourmaster prior to using the slipway. The fees can be found on their fee card and apply per action. If you choose to take your boat both in and out of the water via their slipway, you must pay the listed fee twice.

Importantly, using the ramp is always at your own risk. It will always be under the supervision of their harbour master and you should follow his or her instructions. Also note that their slipway is not a 'drive-in slipway' and is best used with a tilt trailer.
