Watersport Association Amsterdam (WVA)
Watersport Association Amsterdam (WVA) is an ancient association with a rich history of more than 100 years! The association is a member of the Watersportverbond and has the honour of wearing the Royal Medal of Honour.
WVA's harbour is conveniently located on the Nieuwe Meer, near the Zuidas, and just before the lock to Amsterdam's canals. This location offers the ideal starting point for exciting water sports adventures.

Explore the surroundings
From WVA's marina, you have access to several waterways, including:
- The Amsterdam canals (after the lock, you are directly behind the Oosterdok Island).
- The Amstel
- Nieuwe Meer, Westeinderplassen, Kagerplassen and Braassemermeer
- Vechtplassen (Vinkeveen and Loosdrecht)
- IJsselmeer and Randmeren
- Alkmaardermeer
Over the years, the "wet" part of our marina complex has provided berths for around 200 vessels of various sizes. The hardwood jetties are equipped with gangways next to the boats for easy boarding and disembarkation.
Power and drinking water points are placed at reasonable intervals for convenience. The environmental jetty allows for pumping bilge water and emptying dirty water tanks.
The marina is monitored 24/7 by the harbourmaster, who also performs various tasks together with members to keep the marina running.
Club house and facilities
The clubhouse is a cosy place to relax, shower, go to the toilet and even play billiards on the Wilhelmina billiard table.
In addition, the clubhouse serves as the focal point for association activities, including:
- Association festivities
- Meetings
- Various courses
- Klaverjas evenings
- Youth activities
And let's not forget the sunny terrace, which is always busy in front of the lock and offers plenty of sunshine!
Ramps (summer/winter)
At WVA, boat ramping is carried out in-house by members. We have several slipway facilities, including a fixed crane with a lifting capacity of up to 600 kg, a mobile crane with a lifting capacity of up to 4 tonnes kg and a boat lift capable of lifting up to 20 tonnes kg, combined with a boat lift truck with tractor.
During sloping, the undersides of boats are cleaned with a high-pressure water spray. You also have the option of carrying out maintenance and repairs yourself or having this done by third parties.
Winter storage is available at various locations, such as our shed, on land (not covered), on the dinghy slipway and in sheltered spots in the water. For more information on winter storage, please contact the boat commissioner.
Parking and security
The marina is permanently guarded by a harbourmaster living at the complex. The marina is fenced and access is restricted to members with a special dongle. Passers-by can obtain a temporary dongle from the harbour master for a fee.
Members have access to the parking area based on license plate registration. For a summer parking space, each member pays an annual fee. The system is set up so that members can only enter the site when the traffic light is green, which ensures that they are "seen" and can safely leave the site.
For more information, you can always contact the harbour master or the boat commissioner.
