Welcome to water sports association 'De Residentie
'De Residentie' is the oldest water sports association in the Hague region, founded in 1952. Based in The Hague, the association breathes a rich history. With around two hundred members and donors, we offer various opportunities for our members.
In The Hague, in the district 'de Binckhorst', we have a stabling yard with a cosy canteen, located on the Trekvliet. Here there is room for around 100 boats during the winter months.
Rijsenhout, near Aalsmeer on the Ringvaart canal and the Westeinderplassen, is the location of Jachthaven 'De Stormvogel'. Most members have their boats here in the summer. With a rowing boat you can cross the Ringvaart canal, or you can use our own ferry. In winter, a number of smaller boats can be stored in the shed. During summer, the shed serves as a venue for larger activities, such as party nights and members' meetings. 'De Stormvogel' offers 150 berths, and some are located on jetties, while others are adjacent to a grass strip. The marina has a canteen with a spacious sunny terrace, a workshop, sanitary facilities with washing and drying machines, a residence hall and the harbour master's office, which changes monthly. Children can have fun in the playground. Pets are welcome, if kept on a leash.
For shopping, you can take a loan bicycle or your own (dinghy) to Rijsenhout or Aalsmeer. Mooring places can be found near the shops in Rijsenhout, and in Aalsmeer there is a harbour in the centre.
'De Stormvogel' is also an ideal stopover for water sports enthusiasts boating in the Green Heart or on their way to or from Amsterdam.
The self-sufficiency of our members allows us to invest in both harbours, keeping costs affordable. Members contribute by carrying out work tours several times a year or dedicating themselves to the association in other ways.
'De Residentie' is a member of the Verbond Nederlandse Motorbootsport (VNM).
'De Stormvogel' was acquired by the association in 1976. Since then, 'De Stormvogel' has served as a summer marina for most members and has developed into an important stopping point. The marina is beautifully situated on an island between the Ringvaart canal and the Westeinderplassen lakes. By rowing boat or ferry, you can cross the Ringvaart to reach the marina.
Canteen:
The beating heart of 'De Stormvogel' is the cosy canteen, managed by the members themselves. During the boating season, the canteen is open seven days a week during the day. During the week, the harbour master provides coffee or tea, and at weekends the canteen is manned by volunteers, often until the evening. Even in winter, when many members are working on their boats, the canteen is open (to a limited extent). Please note that cash is no longer accepted in the canteen.
Berths:
About a third of members own a sailboat, while the rest own a motorboat. There are a total of 150 moorings. Most boats are in boxes on the main piers and on the jetties behind the shed. There are also moorings on the 'middle land', which is shared. Wifi is available on all moorings, and they are equipped with electricity. Water taps are located a short distance away. However, it is important to use your own water hose to avoid legionella.
Sanitary facilities:
Right next to the canteen is the sanitary area, with plenty of toilets, washbasins and showers. There is also a baby room, washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. Showering requires tokens worth €1.00. Using the washing machine costs €5.00 including detergent, and drying costs €3.00. Tokens and detergent are available in the canteen or from the harbourmaster.
Harbourmaster:
Harbourmaster availability varies depending on the season.
Summer season (=boating season): The harbourmaster is present at 'De Stormvogel' 24 hours a day. During the day he/she is available from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 18:00. In case of emergencies, the harbourmaster is available 24 hours a day. The phone number of the harbourmaster on duty is: 06 - 23 11 76 20.
