Welcome to Watersports Club Nieuwe Meer
A visit to Watersports Association Nieuwe Meer requires a short crossing by the self-service chain ferry. This means that, if you do not come with your own boat, this is the only way to get there. This crossing adds to the unique atmosphere of the association. This atmosphere comes alive as soon as you step into the cosy clubhouse. Whether you are a power boater or sailor, at Watersportsvereniging Nieuwe Meer everyone talks to everyone. It doesn't matter.
The difference between the association and a commercial marina is that as a member of Watersportvereniging Nieuwe Meer, you are expected to participate in association life. Not only can you have a berth for your boat, but you are expected to participate in activities and events.
The marina and clubhouse are located on the Westeinderplassen in Aalsmeer, just 300 metres from the city centre. You are welcome to drop by!
To contact the harbour master, call 06 27 62 1998.
Harbour:
The harbour master is available daily until evening during the season, available on 06 27 62 1998. Watersports Association Nieuwe Meer offers a wide range of facilities. Besides the 50 boats on shore, the marina offers berths for more than 200 boats, ranging from sailboats and motorboats to sloops. We also offer guarded winter storage.
All jetties are equipped with Wi-Fi, water connections and individual electricity connections with consumption meters. Of course, there are modern toilet and shower facilities. A dirty water pumping station is available on the Kolendam. There is a special sail shed for drying sails.
Safety is a high priority at the club. We have an AED in the club building, and there are sufficient lifebuoys and fire extinguishers available. Emergency ladders are installed on all jetties to safely get out of the water in case of an involuntary immersion.
We have a terrace and a cosy clubhouse with a bar and an à la carte restaurant for members and guests. There is also a separate youth clubhouse and a children's playground behind the terrace.
You can take the traditional chain ferry from the harbour to the other side, and within walking distance you will find Aalsmeer's town centre, including a bakery, a supermarket and an ATM.
Clubhouse:
The clubhouse of Watersports Association Nieuwe Meer is a municipal monument built around 1927. The clubhouse houses the entrance, the restaurant with the bar, toilets, the harbour office, the boardroom, the sail shed and the home of the harbour master and his family. The clubhouse is much like a large living room where everyone is welcome and where members, passers-by and visitors meet in a cosy and informal atmosphere.
Events such as parties, courses and lectures regularly take place in the clubhouse. In the winter months, the clubhouse is used for special occasions, such as the arrival of Sinterklaas by boat. The General Members' Meetings also take place in the clubhouse.
We have regular Jazz Sundays in cooperation with KCA.
