Water sports association "de Vlietstreek"

Welcome to Watersportvereniging (WSV) de Vlietstreek!

Watersportvereniging de Vlietstreek is located in the Binckhorsthaven in The Hague and offers around 100 moorings along the important sailing route from Rotterdam via Delft to Leiden and the Hollandse plassen. Located on the transit route Rijn-Schie Canal, the entrance to Binckhorsthaven is only a few hundred metres away. From this harbour, sailing routes through the city of The Hague and the Westland are accessible, ideal for boats with a low clearance. All necessary facilities are available on the harbour, and there is a good public transport connection to the centre of The Hague and The Hague Central Station. Parking in the immediate vicinity of the marina is free.

Passers-by

Happy! Passers-by are welcome again in this marina! You can find more information about passers-by places here. Please note: it is time to register for a winter mooring. Find more information here. Still some large moorings available. In addition to moorings for members, there is room for guests, both passers-by for a few days and for an entire season. Currently, there are still a few larger moorings of around 15 metres available. The widths of the boxes vary, so should you be interested, please ask the harbour master whether a suitable box is available for your boat. The harbour master can be reached by e-mail at [email protected].

Discover The Hague from the water

"When you think of water and The Hague, you probably think of the sea. The Hague's canals, ponds, ditches and canals are unknown to many people. With the free water map of The Hague's inland waterways, you can discover The Hague from the water."

About the association

Water sports association "De Vlietstreek" has been active in The Hague since 30 August 1970. Anyone who thinks that with the filling up of the Spui and the Burgwal, for example, it was done with the Hague's water business is mistaken. In 2004, for instance, The Hague celebrated 100 years of its inland ports and has a number of flourishing water sports associations. Water sports associations come in various branches: canoeing, rowing and also two general water sports associations. One of these is water sports association de Vlietstreek. The association has about 200 members and has the Beverdam on Maanweg, a harbour with about 100 moorings and a floating clubhouse.

During the winter, the boats are worked hard to set sail again in spring, shiny with paint. People all over the country (and beyond) come across the flying association banner. The association has boats and members of all shapes and sizes, from traditional tugs and Westlanders to beautiful yachts that would not be out of place on the Cote d'Azur.

Events organised by members include various sailing trips, fishing, card and dart competitions, bingo dances and the annual mussel and gourmet nights.
